Description:

The Grass is Greener: biblical stewardship vs. the world’s environmentalism

There is more to it! We invite you, students and adults of any age, to hear Dr. Beisner encourage and inform us on this very relevant topic. In the climate change debate the goal of secular environmentalists is nothing less than to save the world – clearly the BEST of good intentions. But God has this to say about good intentions: If anyone loudly blesses their neighbor early in the morning, it will be taken as a curse. – Proverbs 27:14

Or, to paraphrase, good intentions are not enough – not when they lead to a bad result. And we do have bad results already - it would seem that secular environmentalists have prioritized the planet over the people living in it. Their desire is to care for so called "Mother Earth" without acknowledging our Heavenly Father, the Creator and His command to be good stewards of all creation: earth and man. But how do we care for the planet and all the people too? Dr. Beisner will lead us through this maze of challenges with a Reformed Biblical foundation, solid scientific evidence and a dash of humour. You don't want to miss it! Dr. Beisner is a founder, and director of director of the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation (CornwallAlliance.org) and the author of Prosperity and Poverty: the Compassionate use of Resources in a World of Scarcity and Where Garden meets Wilderness: Evangelical Entry into the Environmental Debate.
